Fast food, cat style

I acquired an outdoor cat along with the new property. Barney is very sweet as well as a good mouser. I usually put food in his bowl on my way out as I am headed to work. Yesterday, when I turned on the outside light to head out the door, I saw Barney through the window sitting on the back stoop. He had a mouse in his mouth. I could tell the mouse was alive because when he dropped it briefly the mouse started to try to run away. Then Barney caught the mouse again in his mouth, and ate it whole.

I didn't know cats would or could eat a mouse whole. I guess he knew he had to eat fast before I came out with the store-bought food.
