Labor Day weekend

I was supposed to go to the Stones Rising pagan festival with a friend this weekend, but Ki is still on medicine for his urinary blockage, so I decided I should stay home and make sure he gets the meds and does okay. And I hated to abandon my cats for a third weekend in a row needed to spend time at home with my cats to help them settle into their new home.

So instead I went dancing at the Fusion goth club in Dayton on Friday night with a couple of girl friends. It was a fun night's dancing. This was the second time I have been to Fusion. It's a good club. It has a large dance floor, plenty of places to sit and watch the dancers, and they play good music. I used to go the the 1470 West goth/industrial club in Dayton back in 1990/1991. It's interesting what has changed and what hasn't. A lot of the music they play at Fusion sounds like Bauhaus, Peter Murphy, or The Sisters of Mercy. So much so that I ache to hear the real thing, and when they are finally played it is an ecstatic release. Especially hearing Peter Murphy...that man's voice can send me!

The first time I went out to the club, back in late July, it took me a little while to get back into the goth style of dancing. This time I was in the zone. I got no less than three complements on my dancing. I guess four years of belly dance classes have paid off!

Here's a photo of me posing in my outfit before going out.

Due to mixed messages, I ended up driving both there and back. It's an hour drive from Columbus each way. We stayed at the club until closing at 4 am and then went out for breakfast. I finally pulled into my driveway at 8 am Saturday morning. I only managed about an hour or two of sleep Saturday.

Saturday afternoon, unnamed525 and I went to see the Cirque du Soleil show Varekai, which is traveling through Columbus. It was amazing, as I knew it would be. With the move and everything going on in my life recently I wasn't sure I was going to make it to the show, which only has a week left. I'm so very glad that I did. I love Cirque.

Today I have been unpacking and putting things away. I have made a lot of progress. I'm hoping to have it all done in time to have a housewarming party in mid-October. I think I might make it! Everyone on my friends list is invited, of course. I'll let you know as soon as I finalize the date.
