It's been three weeks today since I had Lasik. I had a checkup yesterday. Doc said that my cornea is sealing up fine. So everything is good and normal there. My vision is apparently 20/30 in my right eye, 20/25 in my left eye, and 20/25 with both eyes (it helps that I'm left-eye dominant). I understand that both eyes will change a bit more as the healing continues. If the right eye doesn't improve to 20/25 in the next year, I may want to have an enhancement for that eye. But I'll follow my doc's advice. I definitely have to wait at least a year before I can have another surgery.
As I was leaving the doctor's office yesterday, one of the clerks asked me how long it had been since my Lasik. When I told her three weeks, she said, "I thought so". She said her mom has worn glasses all her life, and they feel like a part of her so that without them something is missing. Apparently she could see something in my expression that told her I still felt the loss of my glasses; that I wasn't completely at ease with my face's nakedness. I found that fascinating.
