Tomorrow is Big Game Day here in Columbus, the Ohio State vs. Michigan (State?) game. Yeah, you can tell I really care. Actually, I do care, because it is a home game, and that means traffic will be crazy down near where I live. There may be riots, but I shouldn't be in the middle of any of them.
My work is having a dress-down day in honor of tomorrow's game, so most people are here wearing OSU sweatshirts. I think I have seen a few Michigan ones, too, though I hate to admit that I have noticed. I passed on the whole dress-down day, partly because I don't have a sweatshirt that says "I Hate Football", but mostly because I forgot.
I'm actually giving my Thanksgiving dinner outfit a trial run. I want an outfit that is fairly normal, but also a little bit eccentric, so I don't feel like a total conformist. And also one that makes me look skinny. Because I have lost at least 30 pounds since the last time any of my relatives saw me.
So right now I am wearing a medium blue sweater, vintage, probably from the '70's; a '70's vintage navy blue skirt; brown boots with faux front lacing, and brown tights. The consensus among my coworkers is that the outfit looks really nice, and is a good color for me, but the sweater is a bit too baggy to really show off my waist. So after work I'm going to stop by Forever XXI and check out some skirts and sweaters a co-worker told me about. Yesterday she was wearing a maroon skirt with embroidered flowers and beading that comes just below the knee. It is...you guessed it...made in India. And therefore I must have one. Plus she said it was reasonably priced.
