I'm going on a road trip.
No, it's not for a vacation or for work- I'm going to go get my kid.
Approximately two months ago (to the day in fact), I thought my daughter was gone. That I was only going to be "privileged" with seeing her over summer break a such, but thanks to my Ex's 'mom' (I use the 'mom' term lightly), my Ex was forced to make a decision, which involves me going down to Virginia to pick up my daughter. My buddy Chauncey will be joining me on this quest (the jokes about hungry cannibalistic redneck hillbilly pygmies have already been thrown out) since Sara will be unable to join, due to work. I decided to take my vacation during this coming week, so it conveniently worked out.
Are the cards starting to play in my favor? Maybe...
When I get back I need to scramble to try and enroll Jaden into school, which this is the part I'm kinda scared of. I'm fearing that since it's so late into the summer that I won't be able to enroll her into a good school - advice, anyone?
Thankfully, my Brother and Sister-in-Law are being really cool and helping me out as far as childcare goes, so I only have to minutely change how my work schedule and band schedule go. The only thing I'm worried about is that I might have to tap into this month's rent to pay for gas or any other type "incident" that comes up - hopefully, nothing will happen.
