So, it's been a little while...

Well, yeah, it's been a while since I've posted anything. I've been in my new job for about a month and a week now. Pretty much settled in now, although there are always things to learn about the job. Managing an army of student workers isn't the easiest thing to do, and playing catchup on projects that should have been handled during the summer isn't much fun either. I was hired at pretty much the worst possible time to come into this position, the start of the school year. Hopefully next year's school start up will be much smoother. I do like the job and the people I work with though, which is a definite plus.

I've also started my last master's class, and so far it looks like it's going to be easy, easy. hopefully it stays that way, because I have way too much stuff to take care of at work and have a challenging class! Plus, I'm just ready to be done.

I've been playing IM soccer with Phi Tau, which has been fun. I'm playing goalie, and I'm not that great, but i have a pretty good defense in front of me so I don't have to do a whole lot. We're 1-1 so far, and had a few more games scheduled for this past week, but it was during Rush, so those had either been pushed back or cancelled.

Anna's on the road again for work. She left last Friday for Tulsa by plane, rented a car and is making her way back here to Evansville, with a two week layover in the St. Louis area. Once again she'll be celebrating her b-day on the road, but at least this year she'll be close to her family. She had wanted to do a big thing for her b-day (it's her 25th & 25 is her lucky number, so it's her lucky number b-day) and planned a weekend in St. Louis, making it cheap and manageable by having it over a weekend, staying at her parent's house, and trying to do as much free stuff as she could.

However, that's all fallen apart completely since a lot of people didn't ask off in time to be able to make it (granted, the invitations and plans were made almost 2 months ago...not nearly enough time to plan anything). So it ended up only three people could go, with one already having plans for Sunday so they wanted to leave early, meaning at least one other person would be leaving early as well, so there would be two cars making the trip... Since it didn't really feel to her like people actually wanted to go, but were going out of obligation, she canceled. So I'll be headed up there alone to spend time with her, and I'll be going there next week as well for a wedding. I'm pretty annoyed by the whole thing (not by the going to see her part, but that she's pretty much had her b-day ruined).

Anyway, enough of that. At least now I get to go to the Cardinals game tomorrow, assuming I can get out of work early enough, although I was looking forward to Dave & Busters as well.
