And with no interview! One of the girls in my class works at Glamour Shots. When she found out I was applying, she talked to the manager, called him, set up the "interview" and Bob's your uncle... I have a job! The question part lasted about 2 minutes before the guy said," I'm not even bothering with this. I've heard enough from Lacey and Holly (both of whom I go to school with). I'm just going to hire you. Would you be willing to give us a shot?" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pay is good, $8/hr to start, then a raise after 30 or 90 days (can't remember which). And that's the minimum. We also earn commission based on bookings, photos, hair and makeup and sales. We get paid whichever is higher, commission or hourly. So I'm guaranteed $640/month, but will probably make more. Lacey told me pretty much everyone in there makes the commission.
The sucky part is the hours I have to work (nights, mostly), but that can't be helped, since I am in class 4 days/wk. And I have to work every Sat and every other Sunday. I feel like I'll never see the girls. But that's only until this quarter ends next month. I can deal with it until then. And I can hopefully work next year's class schedule so I can have a few days to work in the daytime ather than the evenings. But the money is fabulous, it's somethig I love, and I can refine my stuff and build up my equipment before I strike out on my own. And Justin is all for it, so it's all good.....
