Happy Birthday, L33!
♥♥♥♥ Happy (Day Late) Birthday to L33! The only person I call my seme is still one of my greatest friends, and she doesn't need to get older to be wiser! ♥♥♥♥
It's one day late, but all the l0ff is still right here!
So back in the day, I was, like, sixteen or some crazy teenaged number of years, and I didn't have many LJ friends - and the ones I did have, most of the time, I didn't really talk with them. Lee, a.k.a. xifeng, is one of the friends I made through completely random chance who dragged me out of my LJ shell and with whom I still talk. And not just about waffles, or fanfiction, or things that do matter but aren't totally consequential in the big scheme of things, but about life. It's been a good five or so years and we're still friends. Some friendships in Real Life don't even last that long, let alone friendships built solely online. I've never talked to xifeng on the phone or webcam, but I definitely still count her my real friend, someone I know well and trust and care about. I don't think you have to see someone every day, or every year, or even once in your life to know that they're important to you and to love and respect that person.
It was her birthday yesterday, so this is a post celebrating that Lee's still my friend and we'll keep being friends right till the end, and maybe even then some because one or both of us will still have something to say. We've always been like that. We can have comment threads that go on for pages at a time and build ourselves through novel-length conversations, and I don't really think anything of it because it's interesting and it's still going strong after all this time. We've always been able to duck in and out of each other's journals; maybe we're busy for a while and we come back, and neither of us feels left our because we still fill each other in and it's almost like sitting down with somebody and catching up. I love that kind of thing! I'm always secure in the knowledge that I can talk to her, even if it's something trivial and she has to give me that what-for.
It makes me determined to stick around even more, so I can be there for xifeng the way she's always been there for me. ^_^
Happy Birthday to the seme who's there and who's got my back, sweeping up the sparkles and keeping everything under control. Everybody needs a friend like that who dorks off with you, has a silly time, and can still get down to business to defeat the Huns. ♥^_^♥
