Xmas fics!!

Dec 19, 2012 15:34

So I haven't been around in AGES but I got some fics out.  They're short but hopefully sweet.  They're actually supposed to be part of an arc thingy but if I manage to get all the "chapters" out then I'll re-post them in order.  For now they'll stand alone.  :)

And they're Christmas Song Themed too!!   Just in time!!

O Holy Night - 1x2 3x4 and some 3+2?  RATED:  PG

The All Clear came through.  We were out on a big mission; undercovers, lookouts, infiltration… you name it and we were in the midst of it.  But the All Clear came through and I felt Duo next to me relax.

It was an open secret that he and Heero were… something.  What that something was, I was still unclear.  There was endless flirting between them and the sexual tension could be cut with a knife at times.  It wasn’t a favorite for me to walk in during one of those moments.

But I was happy for my friends.

Now for the big reunion that would leave me uncomfortable.  Duo smirked at me like he knew.

We watched the building we were surrounding, waiting for our fellow preventers to emerge when there was a short burst of sound on the radio.

I looked down to it, taking my eyes off the building for not even 2 seconds when the unmistakable sound of an explosion sounded.

I looked just in time to see the building explode and crumble in on itself in a blaze.

From the corner of my eye I saw Duo fall soundlessly to his knees, his face slack and his eyes full of the burning building in front of us.

The world stopped.

The cracking and roaring of the fire were drowned out behind the scream of Heero’s name.

Wufei  ran up to hold Duo back  when the kneeling man started crawling towards the fire, other agents running past them to help find survivors and put out the fire.  They almost seemed forgotten.

The shrill of my cell ringing in my breast pocket woke me from my stupor.  I grabbed it and read Quatre’s name.

Without answering I put it back, close to my heart, and ran towards the fires.

It wasn’t until I was sifting through charred remains of the building that I realized Duo was beside me.

In front of me.

Then he was out of my sight.

A hand at my elbow brought my attention back again.  This time it was Wufei.  We nodded to each other and followed in Duo’s wake.

The fires were being put out but the roar wasn’t dissipating, my lungs burned more and a sudden fear washed over me when hit a dead end and Duo wasn’t at the end of it.

We tried to turn around when a beam crashed down suddenly, blocking Wufei and I in the corridor.  We looked to each other then behind us and around us and above us for a way out.

An explosion from deep within the building shook us and more debris fell down on us.

I felt the snap of a tendon in my leg and crumbled, a sheet of building keeping me down.  I could make out the sole of Wufei’s boot and I shook it to no response.

I pushed against the weight on my back, inching my way out from under the heavy and burning wreckage towards my fallen friend.  I had barely gotten out from under just enough to see that Wufei had a beam across his chest when the weight was lifted off of me.

Looking back I saw Duo, sweating and bloody and charred, and once free I helped him push the beam off of Wufei.  I couldn’t stand but Duo helped me up enough to prop myself against the unstable wall.

Wufei’s body seemed to lift itself onto Duo’s shoulder before the violet eyes turned on me and reached out a hand.  I clung to him and that hand wrapped his arm around my waist while we slowly moved out from the corridor.

Looking around at the destruction, it seemed like the fires were being put out and I couldn’t make out as many agents running around as before but it might’ve been the smoke inhalation getting to me.

My leg gave out and I stumbled.  With seemingly inhuman strength Duo dragged me for a few feet.

It was then that the most welcome embrace wrapped itself around me and I sagged against the blonde who was now holding me up.

A cool breeze brushed past my face.

I looked up; we were outside.

I wrapped Quatre in my own embrace as well as I could while looking up at the stars shining bright above us.

Wufei was put on a stretcher and taken towards the ambulances off to our right.

Behind his moving stretcher I caught a glimpse of brown hair.

Heero sat on the back of an unused ambulance, the tiniest smile present on his lips.  Duo had his hands draped around Heero’s neck, their foreheads were pressed together and Heero lifted his arms to wrap behind Duo’s shoulders.

A small laugh escaped my lips.  The lips that were soon covered by my Quatre’s.

Wufei ended up the worst of us with some broken ribs and a broken collar bone.  I had some smoke inhalation.  Heero had cuts, bruises and burns.

But Duo was somehow unscathed.

Later on, while we crowded around Wufei’s hospital bed, I thanked Quatre for being my lover, Wufei for being my partner, and Heero for being my leader.

But I thanked Duo for being my Savior.

That was the Christmas that my Savior was born.

And then there's a funny one!

O' Christmas Tree 1x2 5+1+2???    RATED: PG13?

It was a long day.  Paperwork.  I loathed it.

Finally, time to head home.  Yuy invited me over for dinner.  Naturally I accepted, no wanting to turn down free food.

That and Sally was working late tonight.

Maxwell had already gone home for the day.  Didn’t feel well.  I would ask him how he was when we got to the Maxwell-Yuy household.

The car ride there wasn’t long, just about 10 minutes.  We took the path through the grass to the front door and Yuy unlocked and held it open for me.

I stepped inside.

And immediately wished I hadn’t.

“Hey sweety, come open a presen-FEI?!!”  Maxwell was lying under the tree with nothing but a conveniently placed bow on.  Before I could u-turn back through the door, I was witness to him grabbing a branch of the Christmas tree for cover, effectively pulling the whole thing down on top of himself.

“Duo!”  Yuy shouted.  I finally made my way outside and shut the door behind me.

Then I opened the door and came back inside.  There was no way I was missing this.

Somehow in the few seconds I was outside, Yuy had become tangled in the lights while trying to lift the tree off of Maxwell who was crawling out from under it.

I should not have come back inside.

“A little help Chang?”  Yuy deadpanned.  Maxwell was now out from under and also trying to disentangle Yuy from the tree.  I never wanted to see a red bow again in my life.

It took another ten minutes to get Yuy out of the damned tree, during which he was able to get his jacket off for Duo to tie around his waist.  I was very grateful.

After removing one last ornament from Yuy’s hair, Maxwell sheepishly made his way to their room.  Yuy turned on me.

“I forget to tell him I invited you.”

“Obviously.”  I held out my hand.  He seemed confused.  “Keys.  I’ll go across town for some take out.”

Without a word he tossed me his keys and ran down the hall to their room.  I left just as quickly, not wanting to be around for any other mishaps.

On my way out, I cast my eyes towards what was left of the Christmas tree.  It was leant against the wall, lights hanging off one side, glass ball ornaments scattered around it on the floor, and with a few broken branches at least.  “Oh Christmas Tree indeed.”

I made sure to take the scenic route across town.
