Will we still be the Country of choice and still be America if we continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries that came to live in America because it is the Country of Choice??????
Since when are we the "Country of Choice"? The way I see it, the government makes it seem like we have choices when we really don't. You and I can "choose" to get married, but all of my gay/lesbian friends aren't allowed to choose. Its not like we are given much of a choice at the polls either - all the politicians are sleezebags anyways!
Regardless, what the United States does has a BIG effect on the rest of the world, so we can't just ignore their opinions on everything.
Think about it . .
I've got nothing better to do.
All I have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS?
Elect a democratic President. Republicans only stand up for the rights of the big corporations.
I celebrate Christmas, but because it isn't celebrated by everyone, we can no longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings. It's not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break Isn't it amazing how this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday? We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that I am now being offended. But it seems that no one has a problem with that.
First, you can say "Merry Christmas" to whomever you damn well please and no one can stop you. That is the beauty of the 1st Amendment. And as far as to what we call X-mas break.. you say tomatoe, I say tomatto.. blah
This says it all!

IMMIGRANTS,
NOT AMERICANS,
MUST ADAPT.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct!" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.
Who the hell said this? I don't recall this at all. The only thing that offends other is our aggressive stance towards the rest of the world.
I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.
Actually, it just ads variety. If we were all the same, the country would be much too boring!
As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
But that doesn't mean it should stop changing. It should continue to change. Culture is a LIVING thing and therefore it grows, adapts, and changes. Once it stops changing, it would be dead. Once culture is dead, the country might as well be dead also.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!
What about deaf/mute people? Should they be forced to learn to speak english as well? What is is about people speaking other languages that offends people so much?
A lot of people will say that they wonder if the people are talking about them. HOW FUCKING CONCEITED CAN YOU BE!? Do you really think people have nothing better to do than talk about your sorry ass? If you want to hear what they are saying, then learn their language, but they have the right to speak whatever language they want. It's still a country of "choice" and we can choose what language to speak!
