This Meme is all about TV shows. I stoled it from Tikistich.
Name a TV show in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
Hmmmm. I don't rewatch shows much. I rewatch movies, but not entire shows. But I know I've seen Robotech the Macross arc like ten times in my life. It was my first big 'anime' obsession (yes I know it's spliced to all buggery but I don't care).... so, that's probably why. We're rewatching TOS Trek recently, and started 30 Rock again.
Name a (current) show you can't miss:
30 Rock. Love eet.
Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
Hmmmmmm. This is hard. I don't know. I don't really have favourite actors at all.
Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
Anyone from a reality show like the Hills.... Speidi? *SHUDDER*or anyone from those frou frou girly shows like the OC. Mischa Barton and crap.
Name a show you can, and do, quote from.
Big Bang Theory, Futurama, and 30 Rock... This is going to come up a lot, but I love it. It has the best lines, usually by Liz or Jack. Lemon is the narcissitic person we all have hiding within. (Guilty). "I AM A JEDI!" comes to mind.
Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
Stargate Universe. We're up to episode 8 and I'm really enjoying it even if it's low on the action scale. It's mostly a people orientated sci-fi and I like how it's a little bit more adult than the other Stargate shows. I hope they don't ruin it by making it go nowhere, and people kinda boink too much in it, (omg keep it in your pants people) but other than that, I'm likin it. You just gotta go in with an open mind and treat it as completely seperate to SCG. Even with the RDA cameos everywhere.
Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song:
Laverne and Shirley. Haha. I don't know. Most shows now don't have theme songs with words, anymore.
Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
30 Rock. It is supremely funny. I never liked Tina Fey OR Alec Baldwin OR Tracy Morgan OR Jane Krakowski prior to this, seriously. I do now. The casting is brilliant. It was a show I started watching just because nothing else was on. And I love it. It's pretty rare I go out and buy the set rather than renting, but I did for this. It has a slow start but gets progressively funnier. The quotes are the best.
Name a TV series you own:
Tons of Sci-Fi. We own all the Stargate series' (Atlantis and SGC + Universe on 'Tivo'), Babylon 5, 30 Rock, Strangers with Candy, TOS (Original and Remastered versions), and lots of anime box sets.
What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?
I am a teeny fangirl when it comes to 'Roswell' with a big squeey heart for Liz+Max, so probably any Liz and Max centric episode? I don't know.
A show you mean to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
True Blood. I don't like the main actor in the pictures I've seen. (Anna Paquin's squeeze). Yes, I'm shallow. But, I hear he's super hotness, so I think he might be one of those actors that smoulders on screen. Sooo... I want to watch it. Just need to see if my brother can stomach such a blatant girl-centric show like that. XD
Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
I wanted to quit New Battlestar Galactica because I hate this thing that series like that (and Lost) tend to do--when they start just milking it and making it up as they go along. The storylines get more and more shocking and out there, with the intent to get people to watch but with no intent to wrap it up reasonably at all. Heroes is the same. But we seem to be staying for the bitter end for that one.
Name a show you aren't interested in watching, not in the least:
House. Don't kill me. Hahaha. To be fair, I think if I started watching it I'd like it because it looks interesting. I just don't wanna start. Shows I did start and didn't like... well... I didn't like Dexter at all. I just can't seem to see the enjoyment in the main premise of the show... or relate to the character at all. I know they do the 'haha, dead person joke' stuff a lot in it but it doesn't do it for me.
Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Hmmmmm. I don't really know. I can't think of anything off the top of my head. I can think of movies that make me bawl every time (Big Fish, for example), but not shows.
Oldest TV show you like?
Star Trek the Original. That's the oldest thing I can think of.
Newest TV show you like?
I don't know. 30 Rock and Flight of the Conchords are the only ones I can think of, and they're not THAT new, really.
What do you eat when you watch TV?
Snacks sometimes. We're good and don't eat dinner at the TV.
How often do you watch TV?
We rent (think Netflix) so we wind up getting a DVD every night. As a consequence we have seen TONS of shows. I can't even remember most.
Do you have a favourite talk show?
I used to like Maury on and off-- but it's getting 'worse' -- not that it was great to begin with.
What's the last TV show you watched?
We watched an episode of Get Backers tonight, the anime.
What's your favourite/preferred genre of TV?
Sci Fi and Anime, probably.
What's your least favourite genre of TV?
Medical shows, Crime Dramas (though SUV is occasionally a show I watch, I do hate it so).
What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Sailor Moon. I liked shows prior to this, but nothing got me OBSESSED like Sailor Moon did.
What TV show do you wish you never watched?
Heroes season 3 I guess. And Heroes season 2. It's like a train wreck and I derived no enjoyment from it. I don't know why I keep hanging on. I'm hating what they're doing wit it. /sad.
What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
'Peter Perfect' is a guilty pleasure of mine. I LOVE him. He's a britsh dude with a salon that goes around fixing people's ailing businesses by revamping their business image. Both in their store and on their person. It's basically a makeover show, but it's for businesses, and Peter is pretty hilariously flamboyant. And no, he's not gay, he's English! (His words).
What TV show scared you the most?
The shows that scare me the most are "Intervention" which I find a guilty pleasure too but, so so sad when the person does not accept and/or does not improve in rehab. Also, the crime shows are scary, and the disaster shows. My favourite is 'Seconds From Disaster' on Nat Geo. But they scare me because they detail how one tiny mistake can pretty much spell IMEPENDING DOOM. Likewise with 'Aircrash Investigation' So fascinating but slowly making me terrified of any form of public transport.
What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
There's lots. I found 'Extras' hilarious even though it has a crude, cruel streak. I also found 'Strangers with Candy' funny for the same reason. Those aren't for everyone and I recognize that. Flight of the Conchords is so awkwardly funny, and stupid funny and is likeable for that. Again, not for everyone. I find 30 Rock is pretty much the most 'mainstream' funny show I've ever watched-- and everyone I've shown it to likes it. I also really love Big Bang Theory, and that gets a similar effect. Conan is funny (boo, Jay sucks! Poor Conan!) and Stephen Colbert is so awesomely snarky. Same with Joel McHale from 'the Soup'
Which do you think is the best TV series ever made?
This is so hard. I don't know. I'm not one for favourites really because there's always better and tastes always change. x3
