Punk's not dead
It just deserves to die
When it becomes another stale cartoon
A close-minded, self-centered social club
Ideas don't matter, it's who you know
If the music's gotten boring
It's because of the people
Who want everyone to sound the same
Who drive bright people out
Of our so-called scene
'Til all that's left Is just a meaningless fad
It has been soooooo long since I updated my LiveJournal. A lot has gone on but I'm just going to talk about a few things.
I've been playing Tony Hawk's Ammerican Wasteland. It's a pretty fun game with a good selection of songs. I was thinking of getting the soundtrack but when I listened to the tracks that were on it, none of them were the ones that I liked from the game. It's all pop punk or some of the newer bands that claim to be punk. They all seem to sound the same to me. It doesn't really seem like punk when it's played on the radio. That's what's great about punk. They don't play punk on the radio. I realized that the punk bands that I like (Dead Kennedys, The Vandals, NOFX the Ramones, to name a few) aren't all that well known by some of the kids nowadays (do I sound old, or what) that say that they love listening to punk music. To me, modern punk bands just look like a bunch of sellouts. Even Green Day has sold out. Their new album gets way overplayed. The only bad thing about punk being underground is that it's hard to find because there aren't any Punk sections at the music stores.
At work, they finally trained me on register and have been putting me in the " 'R Zone". I almost jumped for joy when I looked at the schedule and saw that. I enjoyed assembling bikes, but I hated having to meet their expectations of what was an appropriate time (to the head guys) to build certain bikes. On my first day "in the Zone" I sold 9 of the $2.99 Buyer Protection Plans and 3 of the $8.99 Buyer Protection Plans. The Buyer Protection Plan is basically something that extends past the manufacturer's warranty so that if anything happens within a year, they will replace the product or give the customer a check for the same amount. I think I'm going to be scheduled in 'R Zone more often now.
For now, that is it. I have updated my website so either click
here or go to my profile and check it out. I have links to my projects for my CST 216 class.
