Poem

Did I mention that I hate New Years because I always need at least a month to get used to the new date? XPP
That, in my complex language of an idiot, translates as "hello, y'all!"

* * *
Read me a book
of quotes from other poets
So that I could grow.
Of your impromptu writing
I shall not be deprived -
I could be Shakespeare
If Shakespeare had my words,
But he would spit them out
Like lumps of coal
For they would singe his mouth.
My teeth, unblackened as of yet,
My tongue that makes me
nigh a forked-tongued beast,
So silly, such a sweet-talker,
A charmer, a betrayer
(Thou shalt not sin against-)
But pray read me a book,
And I should bow before you.
