This is really quite brilliant; I'm very impressed. And the final sentence really solidifies one of the tragedies that lay at the center of that episode. Sometimes things can be so strange that their ultimate effect on us, as we are now, qualifies as evil. Seen from the other side, seen from behind the eyes of something that is qualitatively not us, those same things are actually works of love. As I said, it's a scary and tragic thing, even in beauty. Poor Jack, and poor, wonderful Estelle-who-changed.

It's strange, isn't it, that we get Gwen to tell us that someone's Evil is someone elses' Good, but don't get to see any of the 'Good' at all. That and Estelle's death was one of the main things that bugged me in this ep... ah well, that's what fic is for! Thanks for commenting!
