Quote of the Day:
"I got a text this morning from -name deleted- saying you showed up at her alumni party- you didn't even GO to Rider University did you?" - Emily
"Good work never comes easy" - LBC
The last couple weeks have sucked. But I'm not much one for dwelling on my troubles. After this week, most of my time-crunch-deadlines will be over and I can resume my happy-go-lucky life. I figure- work hard to play hard. I'm still managing to swim and lift three times a week. I think that's what is keeping me alive. Once the pressure leads up, I am thinking of driving up to Boston to pay a visit to Brent and tear the place to the ground. Work hard so you can play hard.
This weekend we paintballed in south Jersey. We means a bunch of coworkers. It was the first time hanging with a few of them. They're in the camera group and I am in the computer vision department. We call them "The Others" (Lost reference), because they are young and we know they share the building but don't know their motivations and stuff. However, they're all pretty badass and are now officially invited to my parties. Which reminds me, I need to throw a theme party this summer. Help me come up with a good one!!!
Here's the latest books update: "The Silk Code" by Paul Levinson sucked. The first story in the novel "The Mandellian Lamp Case" is great- but the rest sucks. Who cares about neanderthals- really? "Monstrous Regiment" by Terry Pratchett is GREAT- another classic tale of social commentary and british hilarity. "The Innocent" by Harlan Coben is good, but forgettable. "Rising Son" by Crichton was like returning to your hometown and being greeted by an old friend- I read most of his books in middle school, and coming back into the fold was pleasant. Plus I kept imagining Sean Connery saying all of the lines that he played the part of in the movie.
I haven't been playing soccer this year- I'm scared of fucking up my ankle again, but I had a stint where I was running 15 miles a week in addition to the swimming and lifting (but stopped the biking because I couldn't find the time). Once I get work off my back, I'll probably start running over lunchbreaks, lifting and swimming after work, and biking on the weekends. I have grand plans for Get-Chiseled-For-2007 following the tremendous success of Lose-The-Gut-2006. :)
Oh, and I met a girl. We'll see how that goes. Knowing my track record, I'll either get scared, or she'll turn out batshit nuts. Hoorah for chances!
