Review:

Settings ==> Running quietly in the background, almost invisible but still there. Little by little, all that we need to know is revealed. The lightness, insouciance almost innocence of the story soften the edges and holes that could have felt too hard to buy. It doesn't fall in the trap of techno- mecanico- postmodern apocalyptic universe and keep the spirit of the series instead of exploring sci-fi realm which I appreciate greatly.

Characters ==> Methos isn't exactly canon, he isn't virulently caustic but he does keep his wit. In all, it is interesting to see this take on his character, more weary, mild to lenient toward his loved one. It's like a melody played with another key, it doesn't ring the same but it doesn't sound bad. The Duncan however is in canon range and if he isn't an opened book like Methos, his motivation and behaviour fit with the canon.

Plot ==> This is as much a relationship fic than a Methos fic. There's no real plot but there is a point and a thread leading it. The simplicity of the story however shouldn't conceal or lessen the worthness of the subtle but strong "staging" the author has built. The scene at the graveyard, the intimate conversation with dead person, the tell-tale past, the confession, the confrontation, the revelation. All of this is well-thought and well-mastered.

Style ==> This is a pleasant style, good balance between dialogues and inner introspection. It never gets too heavy and managed to convey strong emotions without doing too much.

Interest ==> It is focused on the Ship, but apart from that, this view of a future universe, the slight different uptake on Methos character particularly his behaviour towards Joe, and in whole the sweetness of the story make it interesting enough.

In Conclusion ==> I would compare it to a dessert you know you like or even love and then you realize when tasting it that they have subtly change the recipe a bit. In the end you are slightly surprised but entirely delighted.
