On the evening of Saturday, 7 May, I will be one of the choristers singing in “A World of Song” - the Musica Viva choir’s spring concert - at St Brigid’s Church near the Byward Market. The main part of the concert will consist of the première performance for the World Music Suite No. Three by Canadian composer Donald Patriquin. The doors are open as of 7 pm, with the performance starting at 7:30. Tickets are $20.00 and are available from several locations, including Book Bazaar, Compact Music, and yours truly. :-) For more information, please consult
the choir’s concert webpage.
I apologize for announcing this in a rather tardy fashion, but I have been otherwise distracted. I also regret that other events will also be occurring on that day (including a memorial service for the father of one friend that afternoon, and shooting some scenes for a movie that another friend is involved in). The date I mentioned was set many moons ago, and I had little idea it would prove so popular.
I really hope that some people will be able to come out and hear us sing. As a sample, I provide videos (from Youtube) of songs that will appear in the concert. [Note the Klingon who shows up at 1:33 of the first video. :-)]
