http://houseoffame.blogspot.com/2006/08/serpentes-on-shippe-spoylerez.html Geoffrey Chaucer reviews Snakes on a Plane--NEVER GETS OLD. This is not something that anyone outside of my discipline will appreciate. It's written in Middle English and therefore a pain in the butt to understand if you're not familiar with it. Just figured I'd post for those who get it (and I really don't expect you to). I may or may not have linked to this in the past.
Anyway, today I was a complete waste of oxygen. I walked around in my bathrobe all day, y'all. It was sad and pathetic. I did, however, mix up some sweet potato waffles for breakfast (DELICIOUS!) and made chicken tenders with angel hair Pasta-Roni and Sister rolls for dinner. I also washed some dishes. Oh, and I watched like SIX STRAIGHT HOURS of Law and Order: SVU, because it's awesome and it was viewer's choice marathon day. We don't have any new shows recording on the DVR until tomorrow, so it's been an interesting weekend. The fourth of July fireworks were mostly rained out, and last night instead of going I cooked dinner for us and then we went to play Santiago at Aaron and Jon's. Amelia's coming in tomorrow to stay with us for a few days. I'm also starting the name change process. Freaky. Anyway, this week is going to rock.
Brandon's been getting really into MGS4. It's one of those games that I enjoy watching because it has a complicated plotline and a ton of cut scenes. He's locked in a heated boss battle right now with one of the apparently four female bosses, collectively called Beauty and the Beast Corps, each of which are expressed with a different emotion. This one's a cryer (crier? Maybe? LJ likes that spelling better...) Either way, you have to fight the machine and then the girl inside it. The rage one took, seriously, a solid hour to take down.
Also saw the movie Three Kings the other day. I hadn't seen it and I liked it quite a bit. I think my favorite part was Jamie Kennedy's character walking into a tent in night vision goggles, and when his chief sees him, the exchange is: "Those don't work during the day." "They kinda do!" And then he proceeds to walk out into the sunlight, where he can't see a thing. So, even though it's an old movie that you've probably seen, I recommend it.
