Jayne and I stayed in Montparnasse on our last night in France after doing the same thing as y'all from the other direction (though our difficulty was finding a petrol station rather than the car return), and she went to Sacre-Coeur. This was the day after I was unceremoniously dumped by my boyfriend while we were in Amboise, so I stayed in our room to be thoroughly depressed.

I loved Paris. I have missed it almost every day since we left. I don't know why people think Parisians are rude--everyone was just the nicest possible to Jayne and me.

We are done with Paris. We feel like we have been there enough, especially when there are so many other places to visit. Nothing to do with the people (we have also had nothing but good dealings with them (pickpockets aside, of course)), just having other priorities.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I was a bit surprised by your comment, since I thought I had left the post private. SFSF But everything is public now, so I'm getting around to responding.

We didn't have pickpocket problems but I did have to shout at some Roma in the Tuileries until they left us alone.

The next time Jayne and I make a trip to Europe we'll probably go to Italy, but I definitely need more time in Paris. :)

I'm sorry to surprise you; I am still just pretty excited about our trip and loving hearing about other people's French experiences.

If you haven't been to the Loire valley you should go. It's so gorgeous. We were in Amboise and just blissful. (Aside from, y'know.) I want to go back with an extra suitcase for wine. ;)
