Mac OS X mouse acceleration curves

I am experimenting with moving my production back to the Mac. Yesterday I worked on a web project using Dreamweaver for OS X.

For the most part, I was happy with the experience. One problem which really annoyed me was the mouse responsiveness (I'm using a wireless optical mouse on my iMac).

Having used the PC for so long, I am used to the way the mouse behaves, especially on small, intricate tasks such as selecting a dropdown menu or tab, selecting text, clicking on a vertex, etc. On the Mac I find myself always overshooting and having difficulty with tasks that I don't have to think twice about when I use the PC.

I played with the mouse settings in the control panel but I couldn't find the sweet spot.

I then did a search on Google and came up with these two links:

and

Has any other former PC user been able to duplicate its mouse acceleration curves on a Mac? I realize that for people who use Macs exclusively it is not an issue, but this is bothering me more than I would have expected.
