Stuff

And lots of it going on. I'm sitting here at work trying to study for my Praxis II test coming up on Sat. yeah, I think I'm in serious trouble. Econ. hurts my brain and I swear there are times this book is just wrong. I don't have the study guide for the Praxis so I foud one for the CLEP test which has a section that covers the same stuff. Helpful but I have a feeling nothing is going to stick between now and then. Other stuff has been fun. Luckily work hasn't picked up yet but we only have 8 people on phones this year instead of the 13 in the past so I can only imaging how bid it'll be later on. Went out for Jason's birthday (it was a week long celebration) and had the greatest desert ever. It looked so pretty, though his birthday cake was also quite tastey. I went out drinking with my dad. Nice neighborhood bar type place. We sat at the bar and watched the Cubs and Sox play on the varous screens. Met several interesting people. Let me just say, normally you'll meet some strange and sometimes scarry people at bars but these guys were cool.

How cool were they? Well one was a ret. Air Force major, 85% of whose career he wasn't there for (if you know what I mean). Learned a lot of things are true that are out there as fiction. He told us about a friend of his who has gone through basic training for each of the 4 branches of the military at least twice. His friend, Dan, in the 70's was hired by the government to steal a neuclear submarine. He and 7 of his friends entered the harbor in a boat flying Soviet Flags and weren't questioned. They then made it out of the harbor and "borrowed" a submarine for a month. That's right...a month. Why a month you might ask? Well they had to think about returning it. They were contimplating selling it to Cuba for $8 million. Larry the guy who was telling the story told him that the price of one of the war heads alone was about $24 mil. and the boat was over $100 billion, to which his friend merely replied that he didn't want to be greedy.

And as cool as that guy was (and if you want another fun story from him ask me sometime about the time Dan went shopping for drapes...it tops the sub I think) my evening was even cooler. One of my dad's friends is an avid weapons enthusiest. He used to be a gun smith and has a collection of all kinds of weapons. He brought in what I can only guess is a spear head over a foot long not like the old school carved from rock kind. I have know idea what it is exactly because it makes no sense in my limited knowledge of spears. Any way he also brought in a knife his great-uncle got from someone around 1900 in the Black Forrest region of Germany. Well here's the cool thing. He wants me to research them to find out what they are. In exchange the German knife is mine. Yeah, maybe I'm the only one thinking that's cool as hell but I like my shiney/deadly items. Since I was so into it he also gave me a switch blade and told me to keep it for protection (seeing as it's only sligtly illegal). So to all my friends out there who are history or the like in interest, if you want to help me figure out what the heck I have in my room let me know. I'll be taking pictures soon and poking around, but if you have any suggestions about how to go about this, they'd be greatly appreciated.

Ok, well i should get back to work but remember...drapes and research if you're interested and for all other stuff comment and please post on your own journals for i am seriously bored right now and looking for study breaks.

Later.
