Smoking is bad for you. You'll proably get lung cancer or emphysema and die.

It doesn't smell good either, but it's okay if you want to keep smoking. Some people like it and everyone has a choice in what they want to do.

[There's a long pause.]

I don't know if there are tobacco products here. Maybe in the store. I'm sure if you ask nicely someone will tell you.

Depends on what kind of tobacco you're using.

And Sugar, ain't that what I just did?

Like clove cigarettes.

Guess so. Then you just have to wait.

[Another beat or two...]

Are you really eating rabbits?

I always prefer the stuff that's pretty much just tobacco, myself, for that very reason.

Hmm. Well, only the one, so far. Hadn't eaten for a while before I passed out back home, don't know how long it's been since, either. Caught him and ate him before I opened this little book here.

But if you were hungry, then you had a right to eat. Since it's not healthy skipping meals. And it's okay to hunt if it's for food.

Ain't got no business hunting for anything else, so far as I'm concerned, Sugar.

I don't know if I could eat a rabbit. They're too cute.

Well, where I grew up, you ate what mama served you to eat or you went hungry. And since gramps took me hunting every year since I turned 10, I guess I just got over that.

Momma doesn't serve rabbit, but I guess most rabbits where I come from are for pets. The pet stores wouldn't like it if you brought a bunny to eat it. I guess you wouldn't have to tell them, but I bet they'd kick up a fuss if they knew.

Most of them are just big old silly fat things anyway. Lots of people don't care for gamy meat, but I happen to enjoy it.

Not that I'm all that terrible finicky of an eater, Sugar. In fact, I'll eat just about anything once.
