I don't like swearing, especially in this journal... but what the FUCK is the media thinking? it has come to my attention that the footage of the US soldier getting beheaded can be found on the internet. he wasn't military, i don't see why this is an insult to the military that they would "let" this happen. he was a civilian that was kidnapped ( ... )

i was unaware the beheaded individual was non-military. I stand corrected there. And the insult to the integrity of the military are the photos of the tortured prisoners, not this guy.

Secondly, I understand that it's been editted, and that is respectable. I acknowledge that. However, there is no reason for it EVER to have been shown in its entirity. It should not have made it beyond an editted version. There's no reason for anyone to have gotten a hold of it. However, having checked out your websites, I see your point and it is well made. Still, website hosting services should have some kind of 24 hour delay when something is posted to check the content of what is being uploaded in their name.

And as for the other countries hating us, I was in a rant. I got carried away. I retract that bit. I guess the idea that someone would leak that footage really just pissed me off in a way that made me write ill-advised posts.

Much like you, I am disgusted with the media. If it bleeds, it truly leads.

I wonder if Canadian media is as upbeat as Michael Moore makes it look.

It's just really sad that there are actually people who will look at that. People seem to think that because it's not right in front of them that it's not real. I think they think somehow, that because it's on the internet or tv that it's only make-believe. It's not really a man being decapitated, it's just movie-blood and a prop-head right? It's just so sad.
