I quit!

At least that is what I have told people.. not quite true. I am leaving the Infrastructure Design group I am currently in and moving to ITS (professional services). All still under the Allstream banner, but worlds apart. April 1 will be my last day in IS (I know it is april fools day, but this is not a joke.. why do I have to keep saying that?) I plan to take a week vacation, then jump full into the new job April 11. The job is basically what I am doing now, but for external customers (not just IS/internal stuff). The plan is to transition in to the new role over the month of March and I am already working on 3 projects for the new position. Gone are the days of jeans/t-shirts, now I have to be "presentable to customers". So some that is a suit and tie, to others just nice pants and shirt (but I will be making more to pay for the new wardrobe.

Yesterday was the first day in a while when I looked up at the clock and saw it was 4pm and said "wow, I have been at this all day and I didn't even notice the time." Enjoying your job.... Priceless.

Am I nervous, yeah. Am I jumping in up to my neck, oh yeah. do I have to deal with Sales guys... yip. Can I handle it.. sure. If I can't, I am sure there is a Tim Hortons out there hiring, so no worries :)
