busy busy week / weekend! Thursday we had an infant care class that Ibs wanted to take, made us both exhausted!! we went out to Elephant Bar afterwards and I learned that I could eat a salad late night and not be up all night with heartburn. good to know since everything else at dinnertime makes me miserable in the middle of the night.
friday night we were both outta steam from the week and just vegged - him watching the tube, me reading the Sears birthing book I'd been waiting for. yesterday morning I installed a car seat in my truck, then yesterday my mini church friends threw us a shower - men were invited and both of us had a great time. my friend Veronica hosted and she has a cool, modern house that her husband built and we enjoyed good food and a couple of games - one of which included eating baby food - and then tons of gifts. I got everything washed and put away when we got home. I threw a receiving blanket, onesie and baby hat into a diaper bag so technically, we are "packed" for the hospital.
this morning Veronica and I went to the early church service. after lunch Ibs and I put together the crib, construction of which was blessedly easy and it fits perfectly in the space we have for it in our BR! once it was assembled though, there was no room at all for the shelves and baskets that serve as Sarah's dresser, so I moved that out into the hallway after moving the sideboard that was in the hallway to the eating area.
tuesday I'm going to check out my 'Plan B' child care since we're going to be on wait longer than I'd hoped at Journey of Faith school. thursday I'm headed to OBGYN and am turning over my FMLA paperwork for them to do their thing. 3 more weeks and I'm done at work.
feel like everything came together at the right time - not to early and thankfully, not too late! have a couple odds and ends to grab at Target, but nothing mission critical. long story short, if the baby comes early I feel like we can accommodate her now!
