prompts_in_here 9.4: Inelegant

It is rare that Solace de la Marck, née DuMorne, is inelegant. Her grace is unconscious, hereditary, and if one looks past the immediate, sleek physical presence, indubitably predatory. Comes down from her father, as close to wizarding royalty as his origins are; comes down from her mother, whose absolute presence could unconsciously enchant - even one such as Justin DuMorne. Could, and still did.

It is rare, but it's never a good sign.

She was elegant when she was running and came across her brothers that day.
She was inelegant when Castor died.
You usually do not want to be the reason for her stopping to be elegant.

She only does that when the life one of the few in her heart is in danger, and you do not want to put a DuMorne, or de la Marck, or Edwards, or Pietrovitch, or, for that matter, a Parker in danger. The consequences are graver to face than a furious, fierce woman.

They're a clan, and they are an army, women and children no less dangerous than the men, Wardens or Knights of the Cross among them as there are.
And she usually does not need to call on anyone else to deal with a situation. And if she does, you will regret it yet more.
She is rich, and authoritative, and a wife and a mother and a daughter and a sister and a wizardess of the White Council, often enough in tight-fitting black leather, and elegance sings at her fingertips, in the small negligent motions.

Unless there is fear. Which doesn't destroy her self. Just makes her even more formidable.

She was unelegant when she ran her blade though the throat of that warlock. And when she fell on those who'd dared to raise a hand against her daughter. She didn't need her elegance then.
Just death.
