RP for simonarchangel: Simon arrives for the wedding
The wedding of the oldest of the DuMornes' offspring to Stephen Lamarck was going to be a major event. It already was, days before the ceremony when some of the guests started arriving.
Namely, those who weren't there for the food or even the party, but to honor the bride and groom. The numbers of those weren't quite overwhelming. Actually, they were quite manageable so that each of them could be given personal time, just as they'd given of their time to be there.
Solace met her godfather personally when he arrived. Most of her recent days was occupied with the attempts to make sure that the entire ceremony would go smoothly, because when that many people got together, anything was possible, from old enmities firing up to just somebody taking his liquor wrong. Or her, she supposed.
Surprisngly, the time of preparation had not made her question her choice; on the contrary, Stephen and her had just gone straight on working well together, each taking shares of the work, each covering for what the other may have missed. Smoothly. Coolly. It was contenting, amid the promise of the chaos coming soon. And her family... if there was somebody who could go through a challenge such as that, with flying colors - that would be Margaret DuMorne. And her daughter appreciated it all, wholly.
Solace's face was calm, even bright, a little, when she said in greeting, "Hello, Uncle Simon! Welcome, and - I'm so glad you could make it."
