Nodame finally broke 10,000! FINALLY! I figure that's as good a reason as any to have a relationship/questions/ANYTHING GOES meme for Nodame, Makino, and Chuck.

Plus I foresee a reeeaaaally slow afternoon at work, ENTERTAIN MEEEE WHILE I'M TRAPPED HERE ;o;Also - since tomorrow evening marks the start of Chrismukkah - if you think your character ( Read more... )

Taking a break from work to answer this one first because I AM ALL FOR NODAME FANGIRLING, AHHHHHHHH~~~~~ I can't wait for these movies, WHY ARE THEY MOVIES AND NOT TV SPECIALS BAAAAAW ;o;

(Btw, the manga is really well-written and funny too! But I don't think anything can really match the sheer energy and joy that goes into the JDrama version. Both Chiaki and I prefer it by a longshot ♥)

ALRIGHT SO! I've watched a "Behind the Scenes" special before so I can actually answer this one :DDDDDD The actors all spent a lot of time with teachers and professionals to learn how to play their instruments and practice the pieces to be performed so that it all looked as realistic as possible for the concert scenes. They definitely weren't anything close to being SUPER AWESOME EXPERTS and I thiiiink they concentrated on the really obvious things (bowing for the violins, fingering for the contrabass, etc)

Ueno Juri actually had some piano experience from her junior high(?) days! And also spent a lot of time practicing pieces. They never clarified if the close-up shots of piano-playing were her (and I'd honestly be surprised if they were), but there are more faraway shots where you can actually see her playing the piano than there are of Tamaki Hiroshi anyway :P

Ueno Juri playing Pathetique! Not great by any means, BUT SHE CAN PLAY IT AND THAT COUNTS FOR SOMETHING!!!

Yes, I have a huge girl!crush on Ueno Juri, she's amazing ;o;b

I have faith in Chinese bootleggers...!

I adoooore Ueno Juri now, are there any other things with her that you recommend?

Also keeping in line with memeing and questioning, what's your favorite song from the series? :D

SWING GIRLS!!! It was her big debut and it's just mostly adorable and a lot of fun. ADDED BONUS: Milch is once again the "conductor" in this movie XD

She was good in Rainbow Song, but the movie itself is nothing spectacular.

Apparently she was good in Engine, but I haven't watched it myself.

I'M NOT SURE I CAN RECOMMEND ANYTHING ELSE IN GOOD CONSCIENCE. She won an acting award for Last Friends - and deservedly so, because she was amazing in it! - but Last Friends is a TERRIBLE drama with TERRIBLE writing and even the good aspects just... cannot save it.

OH RIGHT THAT LAST PART um.

I have a special place in my heart for "Beethoven's Symphony No. 7", b-but the performance of "Rhapsody in Blue" was just... GUUUUUUH I love S-Oke ;o;b

Aw, I just watched Swing Girls, it was cute! Reminded me strongly of my own jazz band days.
