holy shit it's an update
So yeah I am actually updating. I am not gonna look at how long it has been but I am sure it has been at least 6 months probably more.
I am currently a few days into a vacation from working that I am enjoying immensely. I mainly took this vacation because I was not sure what was gonna become of my vacation time with the pending closure of Jewel-Osco. I wanted to goto London but noone I knew could get off of work the same days besides Shannon and she doesn't have a passport and there wasn't enough time for her to get one. My second choice was Montreal but there was complications with that idea too so ultimately I decided to just stay home and save the money. Right now I am not regretting that decision. It's really nice to just sit at home and get some stuff done I would never have the motivation or time to do otherwise.
Getting back to the job situation... Many of you may know that I work for Osco Drug as an Assistant Manager and all Jewel-Osco's in Wisconsin are currently being sold to other companies or closing. Our 5 best stores have already converted into Pick N' Saves. Most of the other stores are liquidating all their merchandise right now. The good news is that the store I currently work at is not doing this. This means there is likely a buyer for our store. Most of us speculate that this buyer is going to be Sentry and it's likely that they will offer us employment. Hopefully I will get to do something similar to what I do now for similar money at the same store I currently work at. I really like doing what I do even if it may not be as glamorous as other jobs and I really like the people I work with. Many of these people I have known for a while through erin and I have come to be close friends with some of them. Actually several of my friends I wouldn't even know if it were not for Jewel-Osco.
In other news I bought a laptop. Even though I have absolutely no need for laptop since I have a really nice desktop already I have wanted one for a while for some reason and now that I have one I really enjoy messing around with it. I guess having been a computer science major I really eat this shit up. It's giving me a chance to streamline what I have on my desktop and put together a machine that only has the stuff I really need on it. Also it has Windows Vista installed on it and I have wanted to try it out for a while. I will say while the OS doesn't really present alot of new features I really like how it cleaned some things up and you gotta admit the little fade effect when windows are minimized and maximized is the shit. Plus every old program I have thrown at it works great so far. If anyone else has used Vista I would be interested in your opinions.
I still have several days left on my vacation and I look forward to hanging out with anyone who is free and seeing some people I don't get to see as much when I am working. I also am working on cleaning stuff up around here because as anyone knows who has been here the last few days it was getting pretty ridiculous.
