He hadn't expected this. No, not at all. He'd honestly just wanted to sit down and eat his soup.
Of course, that just wasn't possible.
"Er- Hi" The Slytherin began, flashing his signature charming smile and waving to his schoolmates.
"If you didn't know, my name is Riley O'Dannihugh. Slytherin House" He tipped his imaginary hat to his houses table. Okay so he was off to a slow start. He didn't understand it! He wasn't a shy person, not in the slightest! In fact, he was a born performer... but this wasn't supposed to be an act.
Ah.. I get it..
"Sorry" He apologized, scanning the students that were patiently waiting for him to speak.
"I'm not really great at things like this, but I'll give it a shot" He admitted, leaning comfortable on the podium, "So, why should I be Prince, huh? Well lets see. I work hard to make your school year better, and not because I have to- because I want to. Next year I hope to do much more than just an Arts Festival, and by the way, everyone who performed was great."
I'm bombing this.. He thought, drumming his fingers on the podium as he thought of a way out.
"Okay, forget this" He grinned, "I'm not a preacher, but I do want to be a prince."
He looked over at the Slytherin table once more.
"One more thing." He added, focusing on one of the girls seated at the table.
"Melanie Ryse, will you come to the ball with me?"

Melanie blinked, quickly looking around to make sure he was addressing her.
...Well, obviously.
She looked up at Riley, hurriedly getting herself back together. Normally, she really wouldn't be one to go for mushy-like stuff. But she had to admit, this was cute. And he was hot. Heh.
"Yes," she said with a smile. "I'd love to."
