You Crawled Under Me

There once lived a munchkin pinned under a rock
The rock weighed her down, for this munchkin’s poor luck.
The stone, hard and heavy, brought the munchkin great fear
And the twinkle in her eye was dampened with tears.
Had this munchkin’s life dreary been always this way?
Thus questioned the Munchkin:
“For me shall it be, forever be, as it has been up to this day?”

In a booming brass voice then outspoke the rock:
“I am a rock, hard and heavy, ‘tis true - nay, I wont roll away
I am what I am, and I have taken to you
Perhaps you forgotten how things came to be
If you remember correctly you crawled under me.”
