Funny cultural intrigues
Lately people at work that I met in elevators and such have been amusing me a lot. Some were invited to the wedding, so they knew I was married, others have seen us while we were engaged hanging around at food court and such. What I find funny this morning was this :
Me : Good morning
Her : Morning, Julie. I haven't seen you around for a while. Took a long vacation did ya?
Me : Yep, went and got married.
Her : Really?
Me : *puzzled* Yes
Her : .... Congrats!
Me : Thanks. It was my first real vacation since I joined TML so it's cool.
Her : Oh, I thought you were just finishing your leave at the end of the year.
And she got off the elevator.
O.o Did I offended her by getting married instead of going on a long vacation? I was just wondering what on earth was she thinking. It's just funny how people react to my marriage. Some can't believe we'd made it. Some feel happy for our happy ending. Some asked if I wanted them to shoot anyone who thought Cory was cuter at the wedding then I was LOL. I am glad Dalyx and I talked. She told me that she never doubted us ending up married, we were too stubborn not to :)
A lot of people have asked how is married life. It's ok I guess. I am happy as I was before as soon as Cory landed. I am more at peace with myself. Less mean to some. Still very playful. Marriage didn't change who I am, just what I am. I am now not only a daughter but also a wife plus all the responsibilities that comes with it.
I am glad that I found my someone. The person who becomes my other half and is exectly who I dream of having. Someone who walks beside me instead of ahead or behind. Someone who likes me strong and supports me when I am weak. Someone who makes me laugh when I am down. Someone who respects me and whom I can respect. I just hope everyone else will find their someone. Cause it's worth the wait, worth all the pain, worth all the changes, worth everything that you have to deal with.
How about that for a Monday cheerleading?
