About the job..

Well I was in the midst of applying for my Masters in the US when a friend had emailed and said that she was quitting her job due to health reasons and that she wants our resume to recommend to her boss. Worried about my GMAT results, which was not sterling, I decide to apply in case I am jobless in April and with no prospect of furthering my study.

I went to the interview. The first one was good. I enjoyed talking to them and I like the person's style. The corporate culture was very friendly. However, when the second interview came along, I wasn't so confident of my chance to actually get the job when I interviwed with top boss which was an expatriate. He was, to say the least, scary as hell ^.^

But by late afternoon Tuesday, they had asked me to start on Monday, so... YEY! The pay is great by my standards (yes, I was paid peanuts compared to most of you) and what was more important to me was that I will get to specialize. My 3.5 years stint with my current company had taught me a lot, but I was basically doing anything and everything. I don't really have marketable skills if I wanted to advance my career.

So there :) I will be working in Menara Citibank, Jln. Ampang. My breaks are shorter and I have to work min. 40 hours weekly, ergo no Friday prayers long break. Less off days, 15 days as opposed to my 21 days. Less EPF contribution by 3%. But overall I am satisfied as I will be getting what I want, a chance to specialize in one field, HR (waves at Jean) and getting away from my current boss :)

I know I am able and capable of being better at my work. Maybe this is another chance for me to start afresh. I am so thankful to Cory :) He had given me the support I needed to quit my current job at New Years and he had even promised to support my bills till I get my next job :)

Ganbatte!

rl, work
