sooo life is good.
yesterday was deaf drama. and today we have no school.
i made one mistake both times during the deaf drama performances. but we only had one rehearsal and it lasted 5 hours for an 1 1/2 show. pretty crazy. i think i've gotten over the feeling of yay triumphant i can do sound, to the grr, i'm the ONLY one who can do sound. b/c literally there were no extra techies to be my assistant and help w/ the cd changing, surprisingly i didn't need it though. and punita came and kept me company last night, which was very nice of her. it was actually a really good show too. a lot of the comedy was physical three stooges comedy but it was still really funny.
one weird scene was a girl "showing" her dream [them acting it out on stage], but it was like she could "stop, pause, rewind, and play" if she wanted. one funny part was when it was in slowmotion and it was a football game so he was getting past everyone. except in slow motion. w/ the one random guy on the ankle holding on and another on his back. it was funny.
i think that the talent for deaf drama is there. totally there. like w/ all wshs theatre, we definitely have the talent. but the technicalities of everything weren't perfect b/c we'd only had one rehearsal prior to a morning show and then one the next night. the same problems occur every year w/ the deaf drama and black history show b/c of no rehearsal time. but deaf people are nice. and this one dude was kind of hitting on me. and it was cute. he was quite a good dancer too.
i wonder why they're mostly black. i just kind of relized that most of the deaf kids are black. plus, they've got one asian. maybe the white deaf kids go to some private schol. who knows.
one girl wore all black except for a few strips of white and white gloves and bandana on and then had black lights set up and everything else dark. so you just saw these white hands and strips of light. pretty freaking awesome. she's an amazing dancer. and then for the last number they did the same type of thing just w/ all of the deaf kids w/ white gloves on signing a song together like a choir. it looked really cool. and if you took a picture w/ no flash they came up as twirly lights. pretty awesome. nice idea.
i need to file income taxes. dad is too lazy to help me with it though. at least he was like "i'll help you later type of thing," maybe i can get michael too. i know the deadline is april 15. sooon. he's like me in that he just keeps avoiding anything that he doesn't want to do until you absolutely HAVE to.
but yes so life is good. i just felt like telling people about deaf drama apparently. school is fine.
i got into the duke tip program, except that it's the great debate one instead of the "philosophical quest" in paris. and it's still 3000 but not in paris. of course the 3000 paris was w/o airfaire, but still. it makes me question whether or not i should accept it or not. i have until thursday to turn in all of the stuff. it's at duke university. everyone that's been to any of them have said that they're amazing, just really expensive. and it is my money so i don't know if i want to spend it on this or not.
ciao!
