MAES International Symposium

Hey everyone who reads my livejournal! LOL like all 2 of you...

So I went to San Jose with MAES (Mexican American Engineers and Scientists) to an International Symposium which consisted of attending various workshops. They were a diverse number of things that ranged from how to dress professionaly to changing the name of the club to include more/all latinos. All of the workshops were led by industry professionals (Honda, Exxon Mobil, Ford, Disney, etc. so these were the people that actually worked at the companies and knew what they were like.) Then on Saturday it was a career fair where all these same companies were there to recruit young engineers like me (but not necesarily freshmen.. more like sophemores and up) although I still gave my resume out to Exxon Mobil and Bechtel Nevada.

Apart from the serious and professional air of the trip... it was sooooo much fun thanks to the people in my same club from Irvine. I also had the opportunity to meet other intellectual latinos from the same field so that was extra excitement.
