Pick up the phone Darling, Daddy's dead
WOW! Vampire Diaries really knows how to bring it!! Have just finished watching all the episodes of season 3 so am finally caught up and WOW!
Rapid fire thoughts:
The Good:
+ Loved every scene with Alaric in it, loved the way he's become the parental figure for not just Elena and Jeremy but even for the other kids...he's totally turning into Giles!
**Also, does anybody else see how much chem he's got with Elena? Bonnie? Jeremy? We won't even talk about Damon!
+ Loved Elena, she got realistically tougher without doing a 360 on the Elena we've come to know and love these last two years.
+ Rebekah grew on me so fast it's not even funny. She looked like a broken doll in her red dress before Elena did what she did! (BTW go gurl!)
+ Katherine muthafrakking Pierce for the win always and forever. Srsly I wanna write this HBIC sonnets.
+ Elena/Damon please do not consummate your relationship, ever. Remain snarky and flirty, cause y'all know that any relationship with a Salvatore brother needs the other one in it, for the thing to work. Srsly, nothing can get in-between those boys long enough for them not to gravitate towards each other.
+ Caroline/Tyler - Oh Care!
+ Anna & Pearl = so touching, got something in my eye
+ The story of the Originals. It was original, engaging and as good as any for explaining vampirism.
+ MY BOYS!! The penultimate and last episodes sent me into spasms of delight, a lot. I adored Damon being unable to follow Lexi rehab rules. Also loved Stefan laughing after getting his ass whupped. It was such an adorable little brother laugh. Like, "yeah I know you love me, and am totally right, which is why you're mad. But whatevs, you were pulling your punches, heh." - must read other people's thoughts on this cause I may be certifiable, but that's how I saw it.
The Bad:
+ Ghost story-arc took too long, where the Hell was Jenna? Jeremy & Elena's parents, Isobel? Heck even Mama and Papa Salvatore? I kept expecting one of these peoples mentioned above and nada.
+ Also WTF was up with Lexie? How do you have her come back and then deconstruct half of what you told us in the preceding seasons?
+ Necklace symbolising hope to Stefan... Err whatevs.
+ The infernal switch palaver... What a mess! I can totally understand why there were a couple weeks of ranting in fandom.
+ There were more coffins in Klaus' container than family members we were told about...what's that about.
AND are we saying Rebekah knew where Mikael was buried but Klaus and Elijah didn't?
+ There wasn't enough Elijah, something that I hope will be rectified when the show returns
+ I gotta ask, why are almost all witches on this show PoCs? And most specifically black? What are they trying to say about ma peoples? Come on now show!
Overall rating:
** B+ cause there wasn't enough Caroline, Bonnie or Katherine (but last episode kinda made up for it).
And they kinda got carried away with that redonk switch thing.
AND there wasn't anywhere near enough Elijah!
AND, AND the arcs, mini-arcs weren't as tight as in the past. I actually had bits of episodes where my attention wandered and I nitpicked which hasn't happened since the first 10 episodes of season 1!
+ Now can anyone rec me some Salvatore Brothers fic, Katherine Pierce and whatever else's good fic? Kthanx xx
