Oh Season FIVE, how I *despise* you so! I frigging loathe all you chose to stand for which was the character assassination of Barnman and the Robinster, separately and together. I suppose it's no surprise that my fave episodes all happen before "The Rough-Patch". Which means it's like a super-long Season 4 arc and then... THAT. Which is still not saying very much cause .... What Carter and Bays did is like this: It's like HIMYM and the BrOTP were this friend I had all through elementary school whose Mom baked Strawberry Shortcake and Fudge Brownies after school. There were Cabbage Patch kid dolls to play with and all the accessories galore, we watched "The Princess Bride" during sleepovers and swapped favorite Babysitter's Club books and Sleepover Friends books and then one day... Carter Bays took all that great stuff and drew all over the Cabbage Patch Dolls' faces with permanent marker, cut out some pages from our treasured books and left all of them out in the rain where they were ruined beyond repair.
That was a totally long metaphor but it's how I felt. So without further ado, my favorite episode was definitely "Duel Citizenship"... despite the fact that they did not have sex in Toronto.
It was funny, Barney and Robin were you know... them... none of this I can't believe you went to a strip club nonsense... or Barney needing lessons on how to date Robin, although I can forgive that cause overall, the episode was great too.
