Twilight Franchise?

Two posts in a row! Well, originally this was just some random thing I signed up for because I wanted spoilers on some shows (lol) and I had to be a member of the "community" in order to read them. Disappointed when the spoilers were things I already knew, but that's besides the point. The point is that this is actually a pretty cool site, nothing like the other hype sites that are lurking around the interspace...

So last night me and a friend decided to go watch a movie. As we argued back and forth debating what to watch (it was between Bolt and Transporter 3) the name Twilight came up on the LED billboard that they had. So, wanting to know what all the hype was about we purchased tickets for the movie. Grabbed some kettle corn and two sodas and we were off, needless to say it was pretty filled even after it's been out for a week? Maybe it was a day, I don't know. So the movie starts and right off the bat we hear a group of teenage girls screaming their heads off and giggling, why they would be screaming I have to to figure out [Let me know if anyone finds out.]

I won't go into too big a detail regarding the movie in case some have yet to watch it and don't want to be spoiled.

I was fully aware that it wasn't going to be exactly like the books and it was going to be more adaptable for a feature film, so my expectations weren't high. There was a lack of character contruction, I mean right off the bat they hate each other then 5 minutes later they're having eye-secks? I didn't feel any connection with the main characters, the love story was a... PFFT! There were parts of the movie that were breathtakingly beautiful but had no story development to it. I wouldn't say its the actors or directors fault, it just didn't seem like there was any real substance to it, what attracted me to the books was the tragic love story behind it. The soul of the book was never present in the movie. The character I really did enjoy watching and would probably would've liked more of was Ashley Greene' character of Alice. (Next movie, more focus on her please!) One more thing before I stop my ranting/critic was the way some scenes seemed so out of place... yeah I think I'll just leave it at that and be on my merry way.

[This in no way is meant to offend those who thoroughly enjoyed the movie, it is just my critic on something that could have been what Interview with a Vampire was to Anne Rice]
