A Late Party

Jan 29, 2007 18:39

This weekend I celebrated my 25th birthday (two weeks late) and it was lots of fun. We had friends over, and people who came included Krys, Quentin, Frank, Bob, Mary, Jessalyn, Agnes, Tood, Jeremy, Jeremiah, Sarah, Joanna, Amalea, Brad, Becca, Alison and Myself (duh). None of the "maybe" RSVPers were there, nor was one of the "yes" RSVPers, Logan. I texted her at about 11 to see if she was coming and she responded, "Srry, who is this?" So I guess she forgot she RSVP'd or I have her number wrong. Hope she didn't get lost! I had a lot to drink, but I was so thankful I bought all that alcohol over the summer when I decided to build a bar. We had to buy very little for this particular party. We spent a lot on food though. But everyone loved the food and I am happy about that. We had chicken fingers, and shrimp cocktail, and tortilla chips & salsa, pita & hummus, peanuts, and veggies & dip. And birthday cake. Alison made it. She's a good baker. Presents I got were several bottles of wine, Amy Sedaris' book I Like You, several Star Trek novels, and a CD spindle of the complete Babylon 5 series, with all the movies. Yeeeee! I have so much to read and watch and drink now. Joanna spent the night and we were going to go see Pan's Labyrinth but got up too late. Alison and I watched Matador and House of Sand instead after JoJo left. And we walked in the snow. I am getting behind on my movie reviews, but have no fear. I'll write a few tonight and a few more tomorrow and be caught up. Speaking of movies, I went to the Loews Jersey on Friday night for my all-time favorite, A Philadelphia Story and it was simply delightful. Next month will feature Casablanca, Gone with the Wind and Back to the Future the weekend of the Oscars. We're gonna have an Oscar party, too, by the way. So if you came to my birthday, come back for that. And if not, come for the first time for that. You can win an Oscar statue (or a close approximation) if you beat me by guessing the most winners. More details to follow.
