Happy Epiphany (3 Kings Day). Thus ends the 12 Days of Christmas. I need to take the tree down.
I have a nice new way of passing the time at work, these days. I found a site where people stream full movies, and I've been watching some new releases I wouldn't pay to see in the theaters. They aren't the best quality, but they're fine for free, and better than solitaire all day.
Last night I fixed a long-running problem with our existing wireless router. I gave up trying to get the old Netgear working wirelessly, and charged an AirPort Extreme to my Tekserve credit card. I spent quite a while throughout the evening geting it setup to work not only on my two Macs but on Alison's PC, which was much more difficult. I don't like Windows. Anyway, I got it working at about 11:30, and then set up the shared printer so we can print from anywhere. I named the network Arkham Asylum, since all the computers have been given serial killer names: Jack the Ripper, Son of Same, and now Alison's is Dahlia, though I'd rather change that to a female serial killer if there is one anyone can suggest. Also, a themed name for the printer would be neat.
Alison received sad news yesterday. Her neighbor, and a close friend of her family was found dead in her apartment. She was a single mother of two who teenagers who had told Carol that she was her best friend, who got Alison her first job, and who I had the privilege to meet at Alison's graduation party. She was so nice, and generous. I don't know how the rest of the Gurins are doing, but I know it is tough for Alison. I hate death.
