I no longer work at Who's Who, Thank God. I quit yesterday. I've been looking for something new for months, since the summer, and while I've thought about several different industries, including pharmaceutical sales and fundraising, I decided that I had to get back into film, even if it meant a paycut, or not being in production, per se. I had quite a few leads from friends of family and friends, including someone at CNBC, MTV and CBS, but they didn't work out, or haven't yet. What did work out was a position in film equipment rental with Handheld Films in midtown. I start on Monday. It doesn't pay as much as I'd like to start, but I will get pay increases relatively quickly and benefits right away. I am beyond excited at the prospect of being back in the industry and climbing not only the right ladder, but a latter in general. Tony was more humble than I expected at the end of the day when I was leaving. I've seen a lot of people leave Who's Who, but never anyone he offered to write any reference for in the future, and definitely no one that he said always had a place to work if I needed one. I was sort of sad to see everyone off that last time, cause there were some good people there, but the job itself was shit. Everything fell into place for me this week, and I can't ignore the universe screaming for me to make this change. So here I go!
