I have a sleeping cat in my lap and can't get up, so here's a long entry:
The other day I was happy to find that Subia's, the local health food store, can special order anything! I requested some Amy's Organic pizza rolls and Green Guru samosas. This is much better than getting non-organic stuff from PathMark or having to go to a larger organic store in the City. I would rather support a local small business who is willing to fulfill requests.
On Thursday night, theetherealdawn and I went to see Cronenberg's A History of Violence. It was amazing. One of my favorite Cronenberg films. More in the psychologically scary vein of Spider, Dead Ringers, and Crash than his body-horror films. I shouldn't have been so surprised at it being so expertly timed and performed. I want to see it again, but that's too expensive so I will have to wait til it comes out on DVD, but then it's mine!!! Definitely among the top Cronenberg films in my opinion. Everyone should see it. That means you.
Friday night we went to dinner at Sammy's and drinks at Flannery's with trynne who was in town. It's always wonderful to see Cat. She should move back here *hint hint hint.*
Yesterday, Alison and I went to Kim's on St. Mark's to get her WWII propaganda films. That was fun. Now we get to watch them. After a while hunting those down among their shelves, we went next door to Trash and Vaudeville to get her halloween costume. She promised me last year that she'd go goth this year since that's my fantasy and all. It was the hottest shopping experience of my life. We were there over two hours. It was expensive though, so I can't spend a ton on my costume to match. I will have to do my best with what I have which won't be too hard, but it won't match her style exactly, but I guess that's ok. Don't worry, there will be pictures.
Today was cleaning and laundry and sitting in the shower for an hour (rhymes) repairing the soapdish. It stayed for a long time, but fell out about an hour ago when I we were eating dinner (steak 'n' potatoes). I have given up on it. We will have to hire a handyman. Hopefully the landlord will hire and pay for the handyman, but I don't know if they'll admit that this was not our fault. Either way, I'm through.
