Still haven't seen Advent Children, I have heard it didn't make much sense, but then neither did the original game.

Aw, I know it wasn't entirely coherent, but it was good enough for me. Whereas there isn't really enough of Advent Children for it not to make any sense.

...Oh, and Cait Sith has a Scottish accent that Mike Myers would consider a bit shaky. I couldn't make out if the Japanese actor was putting it on or if it was a quirk of translation, but the word 'crivens' is used.

I take it you were watching it subbed? Trying to imagine a Scottish accent in Japanese... >_

Of course; these were authentic cod-Scottish subtitles.

Following Izzard logic, I'm saying 'arigato' in a Sean Connery voice. It's not working.

This is giving me weird Highlander flashbacks. (If you haven't actually seen the movie, Sean Connery plays an immortal character who is apparently originally Egyptian but speaks with his normal Scottish accent and carries a katana which he aquired while spending time in Japan - this would be bad in the middle ages at least. You hear him say a few names and such in Japanese so I can actaully imagine exactly what 'arigatou' would sound like coming from him.)

Excuse me, back in the Middle Ages. Comments should have an edit function.

I like the icon. Both of them, actually.

How did I not consider Highlander when I was trying to work that out? It's one of the great repositories of unlikely accents.

Isn't Ramirez an Egyptian passing himself as a Spaniard with a Scottish accent and a Japanese sword? Not to mention, if the sequel is to be believed, an alien one (no-one believes the sequel, right?).

No, no one believes the sequel. As the saying in the fandom goes with regards to the movies: There should have been only one. And you're right Ramirez is Egyptian but has some sort of position in the Spanish court, and spent a while in Japan and carries a katana. I think he just says it so confidently that it doesn't really sound bizarre until you try to explain it to someone.

I didn't make either of the icons they've been nabbed from various places, feel free to steal (my user info has the names of the people who made them).

Thank you, although I fear they would look terribly out of place amongst my lo-fi icons. MS Paint to Victory! etc.

Actually I'm attempting to aquire Photoshop for the purpose of making niftier looking icons. (I have Paintshop Pro but it's a bit old.)
