Missing May
So I've been slacking.. I've actually got kind of a reason... I was waiting on a pic to use here.. I don't have it, but I felt like posting anyways...
I've had a number of pretty good weekends, and stayed local for pretty much all of them. Basically, been hanging out a lot with Rachel, Jeff, Mike and Kris around the area on different nights. Made good use of Jeff's pool yesterday, this week's been like.. psycho-hot... started spending some time in the basement where it's 15 degrees cooler just to beat the heat. Done a bunch of gaming with Kris and Liz at their house, and I got a Nintendo DS this past weekend for well.. more gaming.. The wireless feature's nice... And since Dave's got one at work, too, we'll sometimes play DS vs. each other during lunch break. hehe.. Mario Kart between Cubicles... =P Kinda funny with the occasional cursing going back and forth while at work for it. Hung out with Rachel and some of her friends a few times, seen a few movies with her, too. (XMen & Over the Hedge last week... I highly recommend both of them. =)
Oh.. the first weekend in May, I went down to Florida for my middle brother's graduation from Florida Tech... Nice to see the family, as I hadn't seen Christmas. I guess I'm kinda used to it now... but they may come up for a visit during the summer... They're retired, after all, so they can do whatevert hey like schedule wise, especially since my youngest brother's on summer break, so no obligations with him and school and such.
Done a lot of golfing, now the weather allows... I've got the usual Thursday Night Golf League, in which I've been getting a little better each week. I love the back 9 at Southampton.. hate the front nine, though.. lol... Gone to the two courses in Springfield with Jeff twice this year, we're planning to make it a once-per-month thing, along with Mike now that he's back from grad school. Last weekend, Rachel's dad invited me out to the Orchards to play (really nice course... =) Had a good time there, though, and it really wasn't that weird spending the day with her dad, either, especially since it was on the golf course, and that's one of those things we talk about when I'm up at the house. I even golfed half-decent, too.. lol... The Top Flite Classic tournament is this Saturday, over at Chicopee, which I'm looking forward to... and hopefully won't stink terribly.. =P
Last, but certainly not least, I've got a kitty now. =P Got her basically one month ago now, and she's more than adjusted to the house. She's been a little bit mischievious the last few days.. maybe the humidity's getting to her kitty brain... Very friendly and affectionate, though, even if she's not as big on spending a ton of time in my lap like she did right after I got her. I swear she's grown a bit in the month, too, which is a little surprising, since it seems like more than just 'filling out'. She's supposedly 3 years old, so she really shouldn't be growing anymore.. When I've got a picture, i'll put it up in here, and formally introduce her to the journal. lol.. little black kitty with green eyes fringed with yellow, and a few solitary white hairs on her chest, not even enough to be called a tuft of white. She keeps me company though, since I'm lacking in roommates at the moment... I think she gets a little annoyed that I'm gone to work all day.. maybe that's why she doens't sit in my lap as much anymore. lol..
Oh, and i've got a few potential roommates... Nothing's definite yet.. but a couple different people interested, in both summer, or longer term... so we'll see.. be nice to have some people here... =P
