So the batting lineup should be: Damon, Jeter, Sheffield, Rodriguez, Matsui, Giambi/Sierra, Sierra/Martinez, Posada, Cano.
Hmm, I think we need more age in our offense.
Speaking of age...I split open my chin Monday evening whilst playing tennis. I ended up going to the ER reluctantly, and on the sixth day before christmas, the doctor gave to me: 5 ug-ly stitch-es.
I was chasing down a drop shot, and I was so focused on sprinting to the ball that I didn't even realize I had slipped. I remember thinking how close I was to getting the shot when it occurred to me that I was face down on the court. I still don't understand what happened, because I've slipped on the the courts before, and I've dived for many a ball. This is the first time I've sustained anything more than a few scrapes. One theory is that my tennis shoe lost enough grip such that I lost traction with the ground when I sprinted forward. Another is that I slipped on someone's pool of sweat. I don't know about either, because I've played while wearing old, worn sneakers before, no one else was on my side of the court, and I wasn't sweating all over the court.
I'm going out to play again tonight, but everyone is freaking out about it. Even the dentist said I shouldn't play, and if I did, I should wear a mouth guard b/c my tooth couldn't handle another impact of any kind. I've played with a pulled hammy before, I'm not stopping just because I cut my chin.
