I fall firmly into the camp of "if the character's not fun and not likely to be fun then why bother?" Sometimes characters just don't work for whatever reason. That said, I find that Kadija and Harlequin increasingly have less use statswise in a party, but they make up for it in roleplay - does he have the possibility to go that way?

It probably says a lot that I had to stop and think for some time before I could recall who Calis actually is...

Maybe. He feels more like a logic diagram than a character. With him it's like yes/no questions and follow the tree down. Potentially it's that he lacks anything defining in his personality whereas all the others have something. But you are right if it's not fun then why do it? It's a game and meant to be fun why force an issue?

Have you tried doing any writing from his perspective to see if you can get into his head a bit better?
