happiness

Okay, this post is a little overdue. I had originally planned it to celebrate BU's last day of classes (last Wednesday) but by the time I got home it was no longer appropriate, and for obvious reasons I was in the wrong mood all weekend. But it was very important for me to spread some cheer to everyone, especially during this stressful time! So here are a couple odds and ends intended to make you feel good.
First, this is an excerpt from a conversation with Dan at the beginning of last week, when ginger ale was the savior of my stress-ravaged body.

Me: It's amazing how ginger ale can make me feel so much better.
Dan: That's because it's made with love.

I'm reading Life of Pi by Yann Martel, which I find fabulous so far. I just love the way he uses language. Here is a small tidbit from the first chapter:

The reason death sticks so closely to life isn't biological necessity--it's envy. Life is so beautiful that death has fallen in love with it, a jealous, possessive love that grabs at what it can. But life leaps over oblivion lightly, losing only a thing or two of no importance, and gloom is but the passing shadow of a cloud.

Finally, I leave you with still from the Wallace & Gromit short, A Close Shave. I love you all! I'll be home on Saturday!

Oh, and my most heartfelt suggestion for a happy time: download "Kimi Wa Sunshine Boy" by Alyssa Milano.
