So I was reading through this article '
Reconsidering the Feminism of Joss Whedon' and all I could think when I was reading it was "Someone needs to read more than just second wave fem theorists"
Not to say there isn't important still-relevant stuff written by feminists in the 70's and 80's, but a shit ton of good shit has been written in the 90's and 2000's too. Some of which I think could lead to a richer, more nuanced critique of Joss Whedon shows. Where are, say, the post-colonial or queer theroy critical analysis of Buffy and Firefly and Dollhouse?
Really, I'm just a mean bitch who thinks some of these arguments could have gone somewhere more interesting and deeper then it did.
EDIT:
I'm not the only one.
