Title: Messy
Rated: R
Summery: Darla watches the newest one feed.
Fledges, Darla thought, as her boy’s newest gnawed the sailor’s neck.
The trick is, to pierce the vein and let the heart do the work, not to tear and rent until the neck resembles pounded meat.
“We’ll have to find you a new dress and coat,” she said, Drusilla looked up at her, gore and blood all around her mouth.
“Sorry, grandmummy.” Drusilla dropped the body, not even bothering to drag it further back.
“Don’t call me that,” Darla said, plucking her handkerchief from her bag. Licking the edge, she wiped blood from tip of Drusilla’s nose. Messy novice fledges.
Title: Sonneteer
Rating: R
Summery: William learns not all sonnets are written.
It was like a sonnet. Nodding at the frightened man at the piano, William placed a hand on Drusilla’s waist, threading his fingers through hers. The music started and he imagined each step was a line, with a pause at the end of every forth.
The turn every second quatrain delighted him, and at couplets end, Drusilla twirled around his hand.
The man at the piano, reeking of fear, kept missing notes. Drusilla patted William’s cheek and told him to keep practicing.
He twisted and turned, relishing in rhythm and movement, while his princess bit off the frightened man’s fingers.
Title: Desire Line
Rating: PG-13
Summery: A desire line is a path. The path usually represents the shortest or most easily navigated route between an origin and destination.
Hers are everywhere. The oldest? The one leading from the back gate to the tree under her window, the one forged quick her first year in Sunnydale. Countless nights shimming up and down that tree has worn the bark smooth, an extension of the path itself. She has met and been met there, has bled and cried and kissed along that route. It is, the shortest distance from where she lives to who she is.
He is out there now, pacing the worn path, cigarette butts marking his wake. It is the shortest distance for the night creatures to travel.
