Who knew I had it in me to do a bb!animals timestamp?
For
timehasa_way for Christmas. My one, true bb! You're awesome and lovely and funny and such great support for all my writing and whining and mockery.
Jensen’s startled by the hard thump against the patio door, but Sadie and Harley’s loud barking and jumpy nature freak him out a little more. He hurries to the back door and tries to shuffle them away from the doors so he can see what’s creating such a ruckus.
He sees the bird on the deck, flapping its wings but obviously unable to get up and into the air. After a few nudges to get the dogs out of the way and keep them from getting out, Jensen slides the doors open just enough so he can get out and quickly close it again.
Slowly and carefully, Jensen slipps his hands around the bird, picking it up and holding it close to his chest. It chirps on and on, anxiously flapping its wings and scrambling in his hold. He frowns, not knowing what to do, but figuring that a wounded bird shouldn’t be ignored.
Seconds later, Jared’s slipping through the doors and joining him on the deck. “Jesus, what’s with the kids?” he asks as he closes the door. When he sees the animal in Jensen’s hands, he laughs. “Look who’s been converted.”
Jensen rolls his eyes and sighs. “Dude, no. Not even thinking it.”
“Then whatcha doin’?” he asks with a smirk.
“I don’t know, but we should probably take it to the clinic or something?”
Jared grins and teases, “Aww, you’re all worried.”
Jensen rolls his eyes again and shakes his head. “Bird flew right into the glass door.”
“Dumb bird,” he laughs.
Jensen smirks, trying so hard to not laugh at the situation. He looks down to the bird as it seems to relax a bit, flapping at a slower rate. “Yeah, well, it flew into the door and now it can’t fly anywhere else.”
“You gonna give it mouth to mouth?”Jensen shoots him a look and Jared chuckles. “Nurse it back to health? What’s the plan?”
He absently runs a hand over the bird, watching it calm considerably. “We can’t just keep it here like this.”
Jared finally nods and moves to open the door. “Alright, bird whisperer. Let’s go to the vet.”
“Whatever,” Jensen grumbles as they walk through the house and onto the garage. “Just trying to help.”
“You’re cute when you help.” Jared smirks and then leans in for a quick kiss. “Real cute.”
